Mayrise Systems has been selected to supply software to manage four major maintenance contracts. With a combined value estimated in excess of £130 million per annum, the contracts are being managed by infrastructure services specialist May Gurney for Cambridgeshire Water, East Sussex, West Sussex and Northamptonshire County Councils. The MAYRISE Street Works systems will be used to improve the co-ordination of works on the highways, reducing disruption to road users and minimising impact on local residents and businesses.
May Gurney, an infrastructure services company, selected MAYRISE Street Works software to support the delivery of utility and highways maintenance services across the four contracts. The system enables the company to comply with current legislation, including the Traffic Management Act (TMA), and helps limit liability for street works activities and reduces possible penalties incurred as a result of overrunning works or failure to reinstate the highway. It is estimated that more than 125,000 street work notices will be generated and managed using the Mayrise software every year on these four projects alone.
"It was imperative that any system used to manage the generation, communication and management of street works notices was compliant with current legislation," commented Lee Barr, Programme Manager at May Gurney. "Mayrise are well known in the industry as a supplier of Street Works solutions and we have experienced exemplary support through the delivery of their systems. The system provides complete visibility of all notices enabling us to identify outstanding issues and escalate, if applicable, to a satisfactory conclusion."
MAYRISE Street Works is a complete solution for managing street works. Handling the Street Works Register, National Street Gazetteer, maintenance, inspections management, defect reporting and locational referencing, the system eliminates paperwork, ensures best practice and provides up to date information on the status of all works. MAYRISE Street Works offers full compliance with EToN 5 a new Traffic Management Act specification that allows the introduction of Permit Schemes, adds facilities for Unattributable Works, Section 50 licences, FPN via email and Notice Attachments.
"We are also embarking on a project to integrate Mayrise and various other solutions through a single portal providing seamless access to a range of management information," continued Barr.
