Kent County Council has implemented an advanced software system from Mayrise to manage the introduction of a new road works permit scheme. The first council outside London to introduce the Department for Transport approved scheme, permits give the council more power to control and coordinate works and are set to revolutionise the way local authorities control street works. The specially developed MAYRISE software automates the permit application process, maps and schedules proposed works, monitors works, and helps in communicating planned works to road users.
“The MAYRISE software will help process the increased volume of information we will require from applicants and issue the permits ensuring all relevant boxes are ticked,” commented David Latham, Roadworks Manager. “Using the integrated mapping tool we can easily identify the location of the proposed works and assess their impact on the wider network. Mayrise also enables us to access supplementary information via a secure link to the applicants server.”
MAYRISE Street Works is a complete solution for managing street works. Handling the Street Works Register, National Street Gazetteer, maintenance, inspections management, defect reporting and locational referencing, the system eliminates paperwork, ensures best practice and provides up to date information on the status of all works. MAYRISE Street Works offers full compliance with EToN 5, a new Traffic Management Act specification that allows the introduction of permit schemes, adds facilities for unattributable works, Section 50 licences, FPN via email and notice attachments.
