Mayrise Systems has supplied a multi-purpose management system to Blyth Valley Borough Council. The new technology is part of a major investment in IT designed to improve council services within the council’s highly acclaimed StreetCare Services Unit. The MAYRISE applications include street lighting, refuse collections, highways maintenance, street cleansing and grounds maintenance.
Blyth Valley, which borders the scenic Northumberland coast north of Newcastle, was recently awarded an ‘Excellent Council Status’ following Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) inspection by the Audit Commission. The MAYRISE system automates many time-consuming tasks, eliminates paperwork and helps monitor service levels. By pinpointing areas of potential improvement, the systems will enable Blyth Valley continually improve levels of services.
Blyth Valley selected Mayrise as their primary systems supplier after experience with the company’s street lighting management software used under an agency arrangement with Northumberland County Council. Mayrise is replacing an existing system in highways that had not performed to the council’s expectations.
“The continual improvement of council service is top of our agenda and we see the introduction of MAYRISE as key to achieving our goals. Mayrise offer the system capability to address all of our diverse requirements. They also provide the personal-level support that we see as crucial to the smooth implementation and running of our IT systems.” Says Steve Wilson, Assistant Head of StreetCare.
