Mayrise Systems has announced an OS MasterMap version of MapNow®, the instant click-to-view mapping system. OS MasterMap is the new Ordnance Survey product that provides seamless countrywide digital mapping with a unique referencing system. MapNow displays maps to pinpoint locations of assets, fault reports and customers and is widely used by technical services and call centres as part of MAYRISE™ management systems.
MapNow can use MasterMap topographic mapping to give local authorities base maps that are more useful than traditional LandLine maps. OS MasterMap includes topographic information on every landscape feature, including buildings, roads, phone boxes, postboxes, landmarks, and represents a significant evolution from traditional cartography. Each feature has its own unique identifier called a TOID®, a 16–digit reference number that can be shared with other users across different applications and systems.
Council data can be linked directly to each TOID in MasterMap allowing searches to performed using council-defined data fields as well as the attributes provided within OS MasterMap. OS MasterMap's unique polygons can be coloured, improving visual display and making it easier to determine what is actually on the ground. MapNow users will be able to highlight or colour features according to both user information and MasterMap attributes allowing quicker and easier identification of features.
"OS MasterMap gives MapNow users improved mapping facilities and will add to the appeal of MapNow, which offers easy and instant access to maps to pinpoint locations of assets, fault reports and customers" says Mark Clarke, Managing Director of Mayrise Systems.
