South Gloucestershire Council has chosen a web enabled information management solution from Mayrise Systems to automate the co-ordination of street works within the district. MAYRISE Street Works enables the Street Care Division of the Council to automatically receive and process applications for works from both internal and external contractors. The system also facilitates the mapping of intended works, issuing of works licences and the ongoing monitoring and inspection of works on the highway. MAYRISE recently replaced an existing system and was chosen as it could integrate with back office software, was easy to use and well supported.
MAYRISE Street Works is a complete management tool designed to help highways authorities comply with government legislation regarding the co-ordination, management and reporting of works on the highway. Using MAYRISE Street Works South Gloucestershire Council are able to process applications for work; the Council’s Direct Services Division and Highways Department enter their own notices directly into the system and notices from the statutory utility companies are received via the FTP server and automatically processed. By integrating MAYRISE Street Works with Elgin Street Works finder the Council accurately records the position of all works against the Council’s street gazetteer. By monitoring the location of intended works the Council can reduce the duplication of works and therefore minimise the inconvenience to residents and local businesses. MAYRISE Street Works also integrates with the Councils CRM giving customer service representatives up to date and accurate information when dealing with the public. “We looked at a number of solutions during an internal review of Street Care services,” said Anita Wright, Business Systems Manager. “We chose MAYRISE as it met all our current requirements and supported our plans for the future; including mobile working, e-government projects and changes in legislation including the traffic management act.” “MAYRISE Street Works has ticks in all the right boxes,” said Vicky Gent, Assistant Engineer. “We processed nearly 25,000 notices last year so any system had to be easy to use, robust and able to integrate with our existing systems and working processes. MAYRISE has reduced the amount of paperwork we generate and process and has therefore increased our overall efficiency.” Editor enquiries and photographs, call Robert Peel on 01666 823306 Reader enquiries to Mark Clarke at Mayrise Systems: Tel. 01453 827 400 |
