Harrogate Borough Council has implemented an advanced service management system from Mayrise Systems to improve the provision of street lighting within the borough. MAYRISE™ Street Lighting provides instant access to the Council’s street lighting asset inventory, automatically generates planned maintenance works and facilitates the management of fault reporting and repair in order to meet the Council’s service delivery targets.
Harrogate Council is responsible for maintaining approximately 12,000 street lighting units, illuminated signs, beacons and bollards. With published performance targets, including repair of reported faults within 5 working days and ensuring 98% of all units are operational, it was essential the Highways and Transport Division had an information management tool that was easy to use, capable of integrating with third party software and fit for purpose. The Mayrise system replaces an under performing solution and was chosen following rigorous system evaluation and market feedback. “MAYRISE is not just quicker than our previous system, it is instant. We have access to historical records, ongoing service issues and planned maintenance works, improving our customer service and reducing paperwork. We are hoping to give staff in our Customer Service Units direct access to the same details by integrating with our Northgate CRM tool to further improve performance levels.” Says David Oliver, Street Lighting Engineer at Harrogate Borough Council. Mayrise Street Lighting manages all data associated with a lighting unit; legacy records from Harrogate’s previous system were imported into the Mayrise system to ensure historical information was not lost and ongoing fault and maintenance records are created and maintained. Using Mayrise staff at the Council have instant access to inventory, maintenance and contractor records and an ongoing data capture programme will improve the accuracy of this information by accurately recording the position of every lighting unit using MapNow, the integrated mapping to web software from Mayrise. “Our previous system did not offer us the functionality and flexibility we needed to meet the expectations of residents and our own service targets,” said David Oliver. “Before choosing a replacement we reviewed a number of options available on the market, we attended system demonstrations and visited other Councils to share their experiences of specific solutions. Mayrise simply came out as the competitive winner.” Editor enquiries and photographs, call Robert Peel on +44 (0)1666 823306 Fax colour separation requests to Robert Peel on Fax: +44 (0)1666 824668 Reader enquiries to Mark Clarke at Mayrise Systems: Tel. +44 (0)1453 827 400 www.mayrise.co.uk |
