Mayrise system underpins £80 million streetcare contract with Gloucester City Print E-mail

0mr-glosaccordweb.jpgSophisticated waste management software from Mayrise Systems is proving to be a key management tool within an £80 million streetcare contract.  Accord Plc, who were awarded the 15 year partnership contract by Gloucester City Council, are using the MAYRISE system to manage the delivery of waste and recycling services to both domestic and trade customers in the city. In a bid to make Gloucester one of the cleanest in the country and bring the Council into the top performing 25% of Local Authorities for recycling Accord have implemented MAYRISE Waste Management to facilitate requests from residents and manage the collection of waste and recycling in the city.

Accord Plc is a leading provider of public services. Working in partnership with Local Authorities, housing associations and other organisations across the UK Accord delivers a range of highways, housing, environmental and business support services. The streetcare partnership with Gloucester City Council sees the responsibility for collecting refuse and recycling, cleaning streets and public toilets, maintaining grounds and open spaces, looking after parks and play areas, as well as operating the ranger and dog warden service pass from the Council to Accord.

MAYRISE Waste Management is helping Accord to automate many of the administrative and management tasks associated with refuse and recycling collection in Gloucester. Requests from residents, including missed bins, special collections and fly tipping are logged using Mayrise. The location for the service request is verified using Councils address database, the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG), held within MAYRISE, and a job sheet is automatically produced. Each request remains active on the system until completed and job sheet is logged as closed.

"MAYRISE gives us complete transparency of the waste services we provide as part of this innovative contract with Gloucester," said Gus Bruce, Commercial Development Manager for Accord Plc. "By maintaining accurate property and service records we can automatically produce performance reports against Key Performance Indicators."

The waste management software is also being used to manage the collection of trade waste from commercial premises in the city. Mayrise Systems has worked closely with Accord to customise the software, providing additional functionality to manage the provision of the service, automatically issue invoices and collate monies received.

"Not only is the software intuitive and easy to use the support we have received from Mayrise Systems has been excellent," continued Gus Bruce. "We now have a system performing to our specific requirements that we can roll out to other contracts."
